Affinity tells us where we are making the most of the target's consumption. It tells us how "fit" a medium is to reach a certain target audience compared to the rest of the population. If the (Affinity) index exceeds 100, the medium or platform is more affine to our target. The higher the index, the more affinity it indicates.&nbsp;&nbsp;In this case, we are going to choose a specific target to simulate a case in which we will analyse affinity. Our selected target on this occasion will be men under 35 years of age, whether they are low, medium or high TV viewers. Knowing the Affinity of the different platforms in this segment of the population will allow us to personalise the marketing strategy to maximise the impact and effectiveness of our message. By controlling the Affinity we will ensure the relevance of the campaign in this population group, thus increasing the probability of success and connection with our audience.&nbsp;&nbsp;Another indicator to consider is the Coverage provided by each platform. In other words, the reach capacity of each platform to reach my target in a given period. The incremental coverage provided by the different platforms that we are going to consider in the media mix will also be important. For example, what affinity does Twitch vs YouTube give me, and what coverage capacity do they give me combined? And even what is the capacity of Twitch to reach new users (incrementality) compared to other media I am considering (a social network, television, etc).&nbsp;&nbsp;All these data -Accuracy, Total Coverage, Incremental Coverage- are key to make more precise decisions about the most effective media to reach my target. Last Monday, November 20, Operación Triunfo launched the new edition of its talent show with an important novelty. For the first time in its history, the retransmission of its live broadcasts would not be on a television channel, but through Prime Video. A strategic decision by the American company to announce loud and clear its live broadcasts on the platform, which generated a lot of expectation in terms of audiences.&nbsp;The retransmission began at 22h live on Prime Video with the opening gala of the edition and, after overcoming some small connection problems with some of the users at the beginning, it picked up pace until it ended after 00:45 the next day. On this occasion, there was no postgala, the program immediately after where they review and react to what has just happened, as it was usual in the last editions of Operación Triunfo.&nbsp;Given the foreseeable interest that this novelty meant for the television and advertising industry, we decided to monitor the first live broadcast of OT to try to get audience figures.&nbsp;To monitor the consumption of the Prime Video event, we used our cross-media observational technology on a representative sample of the Spanish population. In this way, we were able to detect in real time through audio matching technology with the users of our app if they were watching Operación Triunfo on any device, and then combine it with TV consumption data from other channels collected in the same way.&nbsp;The result is a single source analysis, a pioneer in the audience measurement industry, which offers unified and comparable figures from real people rather than devices.&nbsp;To calculate the shares, we analyzed the consumption of television and the Operación Triunfo show by the users monitored between 22:00 and 24:59 on the night of Monday, November 20. &nbsp;Smartme's Audience Locator allows making better decisions to find the optimal media plan.&nbsp;According to recent data collected by this complete media measurement technology, Twitch is presented as one of the media with the highest affinity to the target of those under 35, with 1.54 affinity, while for adults, over 35, it would be RTVE Play with 1.35 affinity. &nbsp;Once the media with the highest affinity has been detected, the locator searches for the media that best complement it, locating exclusively those that provide the highest incremental coverage, i.e., the highest proportion of new users.
