Smartme Analytics is driving ‘The Future of Measurement’ initiative with the aim of understanding, identifying and prioritising the needs of advertisers in the field of measurement of advertising campaigns and media investments, in order to effectively reach their key audiences.
Inspired by similar movements in the US and UK, ‘The Future of Measurement’ is a local project that gives a voice to leading advertisers operating in Spain, promoting a transparent and objective approach to advertising measurement.
Traditionally, movements to review measurement systems and methodologies have been led by the media. However, the purpose of ‘The Future of Measurement’ is to give a leading role to advertisers, allowing them to express their real information needs. This is why the initiative has been presented to the Spanish Association of Advertisers (AEA) prior to its launch.
In today's media landscape, it is crucial to understand and evaluate the performance of different media, both individually and together, in order to effectively reach consumers. Measuring advertising effectiveness provides critical data to guide future investments and allows brands to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their campaigns. As advertising is an important and costly part of the marketing mix, it is vital to measure the impact of each campaign well in order to optimise advertising strategies and budgets.
In a first stage, advertisers will be able to anonymously and voluntarily express their concerns, needs and priorities, selecting the most relevant issues and indicators for the future of advertising measurement appropriate to the current market context. The results obtained will be shared with key players in the advertising industry, so that the ‘North Star’ of measurement is guided by the real concerns expressed by advertisers.
